St. George's School, Ascot is a girls' boarding school for 300 pupils, set in 35 acres of attractive surrroundings on the outskirts of Ascot, a small Berkshire town famous for its racecourse.

It is on the edge of Windsor Great Park near Virginia Water and Windsor Castle and the Royal Horticultural Society gardens at Wisley are among the tourist attractions within reach.

St George's provides superb food with lots of choice. All meals are provided and specific dietary needs can be catered for.

Being a school, accommodation is college standard rather than hotel. Rooms are in three blocks and the main building (which also has the refectory and most playing rooms).

Single rooms with washbasins are on two floors in the sixth form blocks, about 200m on the level from the main building.

Larger rooms with two or more beds but no washbasins are on three floors in the main building or adjacent block and most will require at least one storey of stairs. There are very few ground floor rooms of this type so book early if this is important to you.

All rooms are single occupancy unless you ask to share.

Bathroom facilities are communal for all rooms.

There are sitting rooms in all blocks with basic kitchen facilities for making drinks.

The school is not ideal for anyone with severely limited mobility as it encompasses several buildings, some of them old and unable to be further adapted. Every effort will be made to accommodate disabilities within the constraints of the site but you will need to be able to cope with some steps and numerous doors. Unfortunately it is not wheelchair accessible.

There is a rail service to Ascot with two trains an hour from London Waterloo or from Reading. Train from Vauxhall is also possible. Taxis are available at Ascot station or it is about fifteen to thirty minutes walk depending on your pace.

The school's address is St George's School, Wells Lane, Ascot, SL5 7DZ.  Please access the school from the western end of Wells Lane (actually the north end of St George's Lane).

You may unload your car in the small car park at the front of the school and then enjoy free parking in the school's main car park which is below the school at the end of Well's Lane .
